Why the name Violent Gentlemen?
Have you ever asked "what does 'Violent Gentlemen' mean" when you first saw our company name?
We get it. It's an interesting name. We're happy to answer. One of our favorite parts is sharing how it was built on the tradition, respect and hard work of the sport of hockey and then watching how it brings clarity to the question.
Co-founders, Brian Talbert and Mike Hammer, felt we needed a hockey brand built by hockey fans for hockey fans, regardless of the team you root for, so they created one.
"Established in 2011, we started the Violent Gentlemen Clothing Company (Hockey Club) with the intention of creating the products we felt the hockey community was missing. We needed timeless, yet topical hockey apparel and accessories built for all fans and players, regardless of your favorite team.
What started out as selling t-shirts in the parking lot, has now grown to an ecommerce store and racks of merch in official team stores. We are here to be a pillar of the hockey community; to create a clothing brand that fans all over the world can be proud to have helped build themselves. Our daily mission involves making things that enhance this community's day-to-day from products to events to digital platforms where we connect.
From youth hockey all the way to the NHL, we have also grown to a community beyond the doors of a rink. At Violent Gentlemen the tradition of hard work and respect is incorporated in every aspect of our lives - from personal hobbies, our families, meeting strangers out and about and so much more.
To learn even more about who we are, check out our ABOUT US page and we will break it down even further for ya.
We love to see our gear in the wild and how you have incorporated it in your life. Share your stories, photos, or videos with us on social, leaving product reviews on our website, or by email us at info@vghc.com.
In the end, we are here to celebrate the toughness of the game and the respect of the handshakes after no matter if we are on or off the ice." - Brian Talbert & Mike Hammer
