Violent Gentlemen × Zamboni Collab
As soon as I started going to Ducks games at the Pond, I loved intermission. I don’t know why but the break in action was probably just as cool as the game in my mind and I had no interest in leaving my seat. The Zamboni came out after warmups and the end of each period and essentially re-set the whole stage for the Ducks and whatever team they were playing that night. A clean sheet of ice looked so beautiful to me and I loved how crisp the logos look under the ice when its freshly resurfaced. Fast forward to when I came to work at VG, I always hoped there might be a way to have Violent Gentlemen branded Zamboni merch.
Out of the blue we received an email about partnering and then first met with Zamboni in January of 2024 and have enjoyed getting to know their team, learning more about their history, and even adding our very own Zamboni to our office. Seeing firsthand how their earliest sketches and models (you can still see the original one in person at Paramount Ice) evolved into today’s machines—and even getting a glimpse of new technology that hasn’t launched yet—was an incredible experience. We love how passionate they are about their brand and product. We felt an instant connection with the team.
Seeing multiple models of the machines in person, pictures from rinks all over the world, art on the walls and articles written about them really makes you stop and realize just how iconic Zamboni is. Zamboni isn’t just a machine—it’s the leader in ice resurfacing and one of the most recognizable names in all of hockey.
Being able to partner with Zamboni on officially licensed merch has been more than just a project, it was about bringing together memories from my childhood with my constant desire to have tee-shirts, hoodies and hats that I love wearing (which is why we do VG in the first place) so this checked a lot of boxes for me.
